The Emotions of Knowing Your Profile Album is Being Shown

April 1, 2009 at 8:35 am 1 comment

Some agencies don’t tell you when they are showing your album, and I have to admit that if it’s being shown frequently, I would prefer this. The ups and downs of knowing a particular woman is reading it can make you put the rest of your life on hold, over and over, because it’s hard to concentrate on anything else.

Other times, it can be a nice feeling to know that someone is looking at your photos and reading about your, considering you as parents for her child. You can feel like you know how to pray; you can pray for the birth mom, peace, wisdom and more.

Here is one rollercoaster explained by a blogger, Brea,  as she shares just a few days of knowing her profile album is being looked at.

We were told that the birthmother was viewing profiles on Tuesday, which she did. She took our profile home to share with her family and planned to meet up with the social worker on Thursday for a doctor’s appt and then lunch with the social worker, mother and herself. Evidently, she didn’t show. When they tried to call her on Friday, she didn’t answer. Where does this leave us?

… Last night, we had a message from our social worker saying that they had heard from the birthmom and she had decided she really wanted someone closer to where she lives. BUT they had a baby girl born yesterday she wanted to talk to us about!

… I just KNEW this was our daughter. I tried to call our social worker back. I tried the work line just in case. I tried to email her. I then emailed the director of the agency. That’s when we were told that the fees were INSANELY high. Like so high, there is no way we could do it.

I wanted to let you know that your information is being read. I too lost money with this agency. And, like you I posted a warning for other adoptive parents and birthmoms. Hopefully mine should be coming out on Rip-off Report.com any day now. I condensed a lot of information, but its sad how some people conduct business. Also, just an FYI, it is rumored that Erin worked for another agency but was fired due to her shady business practices in the adoption business. She has no adopted children so I feel her only reason for being in the industry is because there is money to be made. God Bless!
